"Dark" review and short summary

The beginning of 'Dark' is very worth watching, both for the excellent atmosphere achieved and for the ideas it plays with. It's a bit tough to keep track of who, what and when and who is related to whom but this is a seriously exciting series with twists and reveals to send you into a whirl.
Children start vanishing from the German town of Winden,bringing to light the fractured relationships, double lives, and dark past of four families living there, and revealing a mystery that spans four generations. The story begins in 2019, but spreads to include story-lines in 1986 and 1953 via time travel.
Jonas. He just returned from a mental health facility in France, where he was getting clinical help dealing with the emotional and mental aftereffects of his father’s suicide. Jonas returns to school to find things not as he left them—his best friend is now dating the girl, Martha, Jonas finally kissed last summer before his nervous breakdown, and the guy he used to score weed from vanished without a trace a few days before. The town is real uncanny about it; there are a lot of community meetings and curfews are put in place. 
Jonas’s mom, Hannah is having an affair with Ulrich, the lead detective on the missing persons case, who’s married to the principal at Jonas’s school. Jonas and his friends goes on a hunt to find their missing friend. Where things goes south and Martha's brother goes missing and that's when things got out of hand.
